CPP yesterday declared victory in Sunday's commune election, 
we had taken 72 percent of the country's commune councilor 
seats and all but 41 of the country's 1,633 powerful commune chief positions.

The CPP now says we controls 1,592 commune, an increase of 
one commune chief position over its results in 2007, and 
that it won 8,283 of the 11,459 commune councilor seats. 


The Cambodian People Party had a strong win in the election. 
We control more than 1,000 communes across the nation, and 
we are happy with this result and we thank our supporters.

More than 3.8 million voted for the CPP.
