A handshake is a short ritual in which two people grasp one of each other's opposite hands, in most cases accompanied by a brief up and down movement of the grasped hands.
Body language portrays a person's self-confidence. Shaking hands is a big part of a person's body language. First impressions are based partly on how a person does his handshakes.
Handshakes are traced back into Ancient Egypt, around 2,800 B.C. During those times, the right hand is the hand which carries weapons. When a person offers a clean, unarmed right hand to another person, it is a sign of peace and goodwill. Handshakes have endured the test of time and it is still widely accepted as a form of social greeting in our modern times.
If someone thinks of it, the gestures of a proper handshake are not difficult to do. They are fairly simple and can be considered as no-brainers. However, as stated above, handshakes are more than simple gestures since they embody the portrait of a person's self-confidence. Handshakes can go extremely wrong because of nervousness or excitement which can then lead into missed opportunities or moments of awkwardness, to say the least.
These are many different definitions of handshake:
1, The establishment of synchronization between sending and receiving equipment by means of exchange of specific character configurations.
2. In data communications, a sequence of events governed by hardware or software, requiring mutual agreement of the state of the operational modes prior to information exchange.
3. The process used to establish communications parameters between two stations. Note: Handshaking follows the establishment of a circuit between the stations and precedes information transfer. It is used to agree upon such parameters as information transfer rate, alphabet, parity, interrupt procedure, and other protocol features.
4. Grasping and shaking a person's hand (as to acknowledge an introduction or to agree on a contract.
Even though handshake has a good and wonderful meaning or become the best relationship to achieve development or peace, below photo showed that the two smile of two people who are the high class coming from different country to reconcile the conflict, or we can say WAR.
Since July 7, 2008, When Preah Vihear was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cambodia and Thais started fighting. Many troops of both countries victimized and died, and they will face to victimize and die more, if handshake had no view of willingness to reach peace and development.
Sorry that I am not sure when the date of this one photo took? But what I wish to say now is that handshake is only what person's appearance plays role. Their smiles are pretty and confidential so much, but heart is very different from what this picture that you see. Both of them were happy, hand and hand were tough in relationship, mind was different cruelty, but when they stay house, everything was cancelled and had plan to harm other.
On behalf of I am a Cambodian citizen, I exactly know that Cambodia troop is the honest, strong, happy, and peaceful person that is not invader. All starts of the voice of gun are emerged from Thailand. According to the speech from Cambodia Prime Minister; Hun Sen, he is calling for all UN Agency to observe the border of both countries, especially United Nations Security Council. Furthermore, he desired ASEAN help to correct and coordinate this situation.
In my thought, Handshake is the best way to show all that this time I should do like this, and other time I will do like that. Just handshake is no problem. It can happen many time when I want. Today is today, and tomorrow I will design one more because yesterday went away.
